The short version
We collect the information needed to run your account, provide the app, and support you. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information. We also store profile details you choose, such as your screen name, avatar, in-app preferences, and important dates you add.
Activity information
We collect group names, membership, settings, invitations or join information, participation, submissions, reactions, and results needed to provide the app.
Messages and media
If you use features that support messages, photos, cutouts, audio, or other submissions, we store the content you provide so it can be delivered to the intended group and shown in your shared history.
Notifications, feedback, and technical information
If you enable notifications, we store an Apple push-notification token and related delivery settings. We also collect feedback you submit and limited technical records needed for security, reliability, debugging, and support, such as timestamps, app environment, request status, and error information.
Website information
This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts. If you email us, we receive the address, message, and any information you include.
How we use information

- Create and manage accounts, profiles, groups, shared history, and notifications.
- Show your profile and contributions to the other people in the relevant group.
- Process submitted content and produce app results.
- Respond to support, privacy, and feedback requests.

When information is shared
With your group. Dare I Say is a shared experience. Your screen name, avatar, participation, messages, media, submissions, reactions, and results may be visible to other members involved in that activity. Some information may remain hidden until the appropriate time.
With service providers. We use providers that help us operate the service, including Supabase for authentication, databases, storage, and realtime infrastructure; Apple for App Store distribution and push notifications; and OpenAI for limited automated processing of submitted content. They process information only to provide services to us and under their applicable terms.
For legal or business reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or the service, investigate fraud or abuse, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. We will require any successor to honor this policy for the information it receives.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Automated processing
Certain features may send relevant submitted content to an AI service to evaluate or generate app output. We aim to send only the content needed for that task, not your account email or password. Do not submit sensitive personal information.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain shared history, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Retention can vary by the type of information.
You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing contact@playdareisay.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity. Deleting an account removes or de-identifies information tied only to that account, subject to legal and security exceptions. Shared content may remain available to other members, with your account no longer attached where reasonably possible.
Your choices
You can update available settings in the app, control push notifications in iOS Settings, choose what you submit, leave a group where that option is available, and contact us about your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, subject to applicable safeguards.
Children
Dare I Say is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
